The Man of Sin

This is a subject that has been mistaught for years. The Man of Sin is not who you think, and most certainly, he's not what you think. So, to put it in simple terms, the Man of Sin is no more than Satan himself. He is not a human, but a spirit. When his time comes to be revealed, he will do so from the clouds above, and not from a world governement.

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.     2 Th 2:3-4

Right now, no one can see Satan, and as far as I know, no one has really ever seen him except for Jesus and maybe the apsotles. But even then, it isn't clear if the apostles saw him or just heard him. But when his time comes to be revealed, he should be very easy to see by everyone in the world.

Many skeptics, and "prophecy teachers," do not recognize Satan as the Man of Sin. Because of this, most of them are going around teaching that a man, a human man, will rise up into power someday, and he will become a world leader, who will be in the likeness of a dictator, and force people to follow him as he takes over the world and all the governments. And of course, he will bring on the dreaded Mark of the Beast.

In my lifetime, I've seen many people who are acused of being the Man of Sin, and the Antichrist. Yet none of them have ever prevailed, and of course, they never will because he isn't even human. I find their teaching completely false because of the following two reasons:

One, the Antichrist is not a man, and the apostle John went into great detail explaining how to see it when he was here 2,000 years ago. Two, Satan is not the Antichrist. Which means the very mention of the Man of Sin and the Antichrist as the same person is completely deceiving and inconsistent with the bible.

When his time comes to be revealed, Satan, the Man of Sin, should be very easy to see.

Finding Satan

We must use the bible with the time line and time frame used back in the prophecy days in order to see what the future events of the Man of Sin are. But first, let's look at where he gets his name:

"How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!    Isa 14:12.

"Those who see you will gaze at you, And consider you, saying: 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms,    Isa 14:16.

Notice two things about Isa 14:16; it says Those who see you, and; Is this the man.

Isaiah just called Lucifer a Man. Lucifer is just one of the many names for Satan. John called him: "the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan" in Rev 20:2, where we learn Satan is the great adversary of God and mankind.

Isaiah goes on to tell us that Satan will rise above the stars and the clouds and will someday and proclaim that he is the almighty God.

For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'
   Isa 14:13-14.

The reason it says he will ascend into heaven, is because right now he is still bound to earth. Remember, he was cast down in Gen 3:14, and has not been allowed to return to heaven ever since. Rev 12:9 shows how he was cast out of heaven and Jesus confirmed it in Luke 10:18 when he said: "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven."

When we take what Satan said in Isaiah, and compare it to what Daniel said, we find that Lucifer is indeed the King of the North.

So the king of the North shall come and build a siege mound, Dan 11:15.

"Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, . . . He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all."

   Dan 11:36-37.

What did Satan say about the northern parts in Isaiah 14:13? I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; Therefore, in simple terms, Satan is the King of the North. And since he is not a human, this tells us that none of the King's Daniel is talking about are human beings. Which also means, no human will rise as the Man of Sin.

Defining the Man of Sin

Paul mentions the Son of Perdition at the same time he mentions Man of Sin. However, both he and Jesus mentioned him.

JESUS:  While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.  John 17:12.

PAUL:  Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
 2 Thes 2:3.

If you notice, when people talk about the Man of Sin, they rarely ever mention the Son of Perdition. This is largely because they don't know who he is. Yet we can clearly see that both Jesus and Paul called Satan the Son of Perdition.

Now think about this, if Jesus mentioned the Son of Perdition 2,000 years ago, and Paul did shortly thereafter, then it means two things. One: he was alive when Jesus was here, and Two: he will still be alive when his time comes to be revealed. This also helps show us that the Son of Perdition, the Man of Sin, is not human.

When we look at what Paul said about the Man of Sin, we see that matches what Daniel said about the King of the North.

". . . who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God."
2 Thes 2:3

Therefore, we know that the Man of Sin is the King of the North, because there is no other who is prophesied to stand in the temple and claim that he is God. So why is he called the Son of Perdition?

SON of GOD

The bible is very clear about showing us Jesus is the Son of God. But is he the only son God has? Many people believe he is, and refer to him as the only Son of God. But that's not what the bible tells us. In gen 6:2, and Job 38:7, we see that God has many sons, so we know that Jesus isn't the only one. Take a look:

". . . that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose." Gen 6:2.

"When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?"
Job 38:7.

By looking at the word Son and Sons, we see that it means just what it says, Sons: Ben, sons. It does not mean angels and never did. In fact, with all the deceivers in the world, if it mean angels they wouldn't have missed that and had the bibles say angels. But they don't, they say sons and that's what they mean.

With that said, now take a look at something Daniel said that has gone largely over looked and completely ignored for the most part, because scholars don't take it into consideration when it comes to prophecy.

"And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
Dan 9:26.

Did you notice anything? Sure you did, you got the part about the Messiah, most people do. But did you notice anything else? Did you notice the word Prince? And how many times is that word said? It's said twice. Messiah the Prince, and the Prince who is to come.

Jesus is and was Messiah the Prince. As such, he proclaimed that he was the Son of God. This makes him a Prince, because God is the almighty and above everyone and everything. So who is the Prince who is to come? Wouldn't that also be a Son of God? Yes it would. And that is where Satan gets the name "Son" of Perdition.

Now think, when people say the Man of Sin will be a person who comes up out of an existing nation and becomes a world leader, how does that make any sense? Satan is clearly the King of the North, and he is clearly the Prince who is to come, and it is he who will proclaim that he is God.

When this is all connected, it shows that he is clearly the Son of Perdition that Jesus and Paul spoke of.

More on Satan

The book of Job also supports Satan as a son of God. This can be found in Job 1:6 and 2:1.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.
Job 1:6

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord.
Job 2:1.

". . . and Satan also came among them." To be among them, means he is one of them. So even the book of Job can remind us that Satan is one of God's sons.

The bottom line is this, be aware of the deceivers out there. Keep in mind, the more you learn, the more you will learn. Meaning, one learning curve paves way for another learning curve later on. All you have to do, is be bold enough to stand up for what is written, and not so much for what is being taught.

The Abomination of Desolation

Satan is, and yet isn't, the Abomination of Desolation. Keep in mind, we cannot see Satan because he is a spirit. Because of this, he will cause an image to be made and placed in the temple as he proclaims that he is God. Not even God has ever been so bold to do this. And there are no images around of Jesus, even though he was on earth.

With no images of God or Jesus around, Satan can proclaim he is God and no one would be any wiser, except for those who are keeping a watchful eye out for him.

No one knows what this image will look like because the bible doesn't say. We are just told to look fo rthe Abomination of Desolation.

"Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),
Mat 24:15.

This is the last warning we will see before the second coming. The image will be built and it will stand in the temple. Many people will fall away when this takes palce, as it will bring on the great falling away Paul mentions.

So, with all this said, understand what the Man of Sin is, and what he isn't. Then when you hear people talking about him, hopefully you can explain it to them.

The Man of Sin, is Satan.
